Botkyrka Municipality is the sixth largest municipality in Stockholm County and consists of the districts of Alby, Fittja, Hallunda, Norsborg, Tullinge, Tumba, Vårsta, and Grödinge. Botkyrka Municipality has approximately 95,000 inhabitants and over 6,400 employees.
The Department of Community Planning manages and develops both urban and rural areas within the municipality. We have the overall responsibility for planning and creating the physical, legal, and business conditions for a safe and good living environment in Botkyrka. The Position and Responsibilities
We are looking for an engaged urban planner with a strong interest in urban planning issues for the planning unit at the Department of Community Planning.
As an urban planner, you will work on planning projects and Botkyrka's future urban development, with responsibility for the planning process from early stages to completed plans. The role involves project-based work together with colleagues in the Department of Community Planning and other departments in the municipality.
Your main responsibilities include:
- working on planning projects and being responsible for the planning process from early stages to completed plans
- participating in the development of processes for planning decisions, programs, and detailed plans
- collaborating with colleagues within the Department of Community Planning and other departments in the municipality
- meeting politicians, citizens, builders, consultants, and authorities, providing excellent service and a professional approach to all.
In this position, it is important to see the bigger picture and consider the broader perspective while understanding your role in the planning unit and ensuring the best for the entire municipality and the Department of Community Planning in your actions and decisions.

The role involves responsibility for producing detailed plans by leading projects, drafting planning descriptions, and drawing planning maps. We have many exciting plans and development projects underway, both in the digital and physical environments.
Who You Are
You have a university degree in community planning at the master's level, such as architect, landscape architect, physical planner, civil engineer in community building, or urban planner.
Other requirements:
- Experience in project management.
- Experience working with detailed plans.
- Experience in illustrating and visualizing.
- Experience with GIS software and CAD tools.
- Familiarity with planning and building laws and other legislation in the field of community planning.
- Experience presenting proposals clearly and professionally visually and articulating well in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Meritorious:
- Experience with Focus Detailed Plan and PlanDirect.
- Experience in 3D visualization and/or 3D tools.
- Experience in producing digital detailed planning documents and digitizing existing detailed plans.
As a person, you are confident and solution-oriented, which is important in the role as you often handle complex planning processes and need to make well-informed decisions under time pressure. Your confidence allows you to manage situations with multiple stakeholders calmly and professionally while finding practical solutions. You are structured and responsible, ensuring high quality and that tasks are completed on time. In this role, you have many points of contact both internally and externally, and therefore we are looking for someone who is collaborative, trustworthy, and attentive to others' needs.
